Financial year 2016 a success:

COMPEON becomes the first independent full-service provider for SME financing in Germany

The fintech company expands its service and now offers the only product- and provider-neutral one-stop shop for corporate finance on the German market

COMPEON made considerable further improvements to its unique platform service in 2016 by completing its range of financing instruments, expanding its partner network and growing its team of in-house advisers.

  • In addition to credit, loans and leasing agreements, companies can now also find factoring and alternative financing products – such as mezzanine capital, purchase and project financing or private debt – via COMPEON.
  • Clients can now reach more than 220 banks and financing institutions by submitting a single query on the platform. This gives companies transparency when it comes to financing opportunities and the associated terms. Each loan enquiry is automatically checked to see whether it is eligible for any incentives, such as those offered by KfW or NRW.BANK.
  • COMPEON’s advisers have sound experience and expertise in every aspect of corporate finance and are impartial when it comes to both products and partners, enabling them to find the right financing solution.

Dr Nico Peters, Founder and Managing Director of COMPEON, said: “We originally set up COMPEON as a brokerage portal for traditional bank loans. Now, for the first time, companies can obtain completely independent, free financing advice from us and find the ideal form of finance for them – whatever financing product that may be.”

In 2016, the number of financing agreements brokered via the COMPEON platform was up more than 300% on the previous year. The fintech company handled financing enquiries with a total volume of €2.5 billion. On average, clients sought financing of approx. €700,000. Depending on the product category, as many as 50% of the queries submitted resulted in an agreement being signed with one of COMPEON’s financial partners.

In 2017, the fintech firm will move its head office from Emsdetten to Düsseldorf and recruit additional staff. This will make an important contribution towards driving further growth and internationalisation.
